We've extended our commissions

We're offering payment for submissions to issue #5 from marginalised and underrepresented perspectives. Read on to find out more.

daikon* realises that free labour is not always an option in the systems we exist in. In the future we want to be able to compensate every contributor for their work. In the meantime, we are able to offer three £30 commissions to contributors who would otherwise be unable to submit to daikon* issue #5 ‘migration stories’. Read our call for submissions for the issue here.

We would also like to open up these commissions to people who are otherwise underrepresented and marginalised in the Southeast and East Asian diaspora. In particular, we want to encourage proposals by people of Khmer, Laotian, Burmese, Filipinx, and Indonesian background, undocumented people, sex workers, black Asians, Muslims, indigenous people and anyone who experiences colonisation and/or minoritisation by Southeast or East Asian countries.

Contact us as soon as possible with a few sentences describing your proposed submission if you are interested!
